We believe that each child can only achieve their full potential if they are happy and secure in their school environment.
Our small classes, excellent academic record, rural setting and strong Christian ethos may be right for your child.
If you are wondering if Selling School is right for your child, the best way to find out is to come and visit us.

- Faith (A maximum of 25% of places will be allocated under this criteria)**
- Children of Staff at the School
- Distance/Nearness of Children’s Home to School***
*Siblings must be attending at the same time to qualify.
** If you are applying on Faith criteria, please complete the form and return it to the school as part of your application
***Measured in a straight line

When to apply
If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014, you should be applying for a place in a Reception class in September 2018.
Legally a child reaches compulsory school age in the term following their fifth birthday; County policy is to encourage parents to enroll their children in Reception classes before this deadline.
Application forms are available from the school office. The closing date for applications in reception is usually in the January- with the child starting in the following September.
Visiting the school
We strongly advise all parents to visit the school before applying. You are welcome to visit without an appointment at any time, although should you wish to discuss matters with the Head Teacher an appointment, made by telephoning the school office, would be needed.
Once a place has been offered and accepted you and your child will be invited to visit the school on several occasions, both in school time and after school, to help integrate your child and ensure that their first day goes smoothly.
Reception children attend school for mornings only for the first week, moving to full time attendance following discussions between parents and the class teacher. The school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 3:30pm.
If you wish to apply for a place for an older child at Selling Church of England Primary School the criteria set out above still apply. Places will be offered provided the admission does not involve us exceeding our standard number per year group. Currently our standard number is 30. Contact the Head Teacher for further information.
Transfer at 11
Children leaving Selling to move to Secondary education go to a variety of schools. In their final year at primary school pupils can, if parents wish, undertake the selection test for a Grammar school place (11 plus or Kent Test).
Many of the secondary schools in our area have their own entrance tests or have specific criteria for admission, details of which can be obtained direct from the schools concerned.
